“Dune” Has Started Filming!

Rebecca Ferguson has a lot of new projects coming, but one that we are anticipating a bit extra is Dune. And to the joy of fans everywhere, the film has officially started filming! Denis Villeneuve will direct, Hans Zimmer create the score, and the cast? Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Zendaya, David Dastmalchian , Stephen Henderson, Charlotte Rampling, Jason Momoa, Javier Bardem and Chang Chen. Phew, that is quite the cast. Dune is being filmed on location in Budapest, Hungary, and in Jordan. The film is slated for a November 20, 2020 worldwide release. “Dune” Gets 2020 Release Date

On Friday Warner Bros. announced that filmmaker Denis Villeneuve’s big-budget sci-fi adaptation of Dune will open on Nov. 20, 2020 in IMAX and 3D. The all-star cast for the Legendary film includes Timothee Chalamet as the lead character, Paul Atreides, as well as Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgard, Charlotte Rampling, Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin. Jason Momoa, Zendaya and Oscar Isaac are also in talks to join the cast.

Dune is an adaptation of Frank Herbert’s classic 1965 novel, which is set in the far futures and tells a sprawling tale of betrayal and intrigue set on the desert planet of Arrakis, which features a rare and valuable spice drug coveted throughout the galaxy. Villeneuve’s adaptation is expected to begin filming in the spring in locations such as Budapest and Jordan. The director penned the script with Eric Roth and Jon Spaihts, and is is also producing along with Mary Parent and Cale Boyter.

In Dune, Rebecca Ferguson plays Lady Jessica, the mother to Chalamet’s character. She recently spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about portraying a member of the Bene Gesserit, a powerful and ancient order of women in the Dune universe. “There’s a calm empowerment to being the Bene Gesserit that she is,” Ferguson said.

Rebecca to Re-Team with Hugh Jackman for “Reminiscence”

According to Deadline, Rebecca Ferguson and Hugh Jackman are due to star this fall in sci-fi-thriller Reminiscence, a film that Westworld executive producer Lisa Joy has scripted and will direct. The co-pro between Kilter Films, Michael De Luca Productions and FilmNation is a re-team for Jackman and Ferguson, who worked together on hit musical The Greatest Showman. The script, which made the Black List several years ago, will see Jackman play a private eye who deals in recapturing cherished memories for clients, with Ferguson playing one of those clients. Rebecca has so many good projects on the horizon, and this is yet another one!
