According to Variety, Rebecca Ferguson is in early talks to co-star with Michael Fassbender in Working Title and Universal’s The Snowman. A fellow Swede, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy helmer Tomas Alfredson, will direct the film written by Soren Sveistrup. The Snowman revolves around Harry Hole (played by Fassbender), a detective who has been featured in 10 of Jo Nesbo’s novels. Described as a loose cannon in the Oslo police force, Hole investigates the disappearance of a woman whose pink scarf is found wrapped around an ominous-looking snowman. Rebecca’s involvement isn’t a sure-thing just yet, but both sides are apparently keen on closing the deal soon, in order to firm up a January start-date.
According to Heroic Hollywood, Rebecca Ferguson is at the top of Marvel’s list to play Captain Marvel, in their first female-centric superhero movie. Rumors have previously linked Emily Blunt (who’ll next star in The Girl On The Train opposite Ferguson) to the part. The site also says that Rebecca might’ve withdrawn from consideration for the female lead in Gambit, potentially to pursue bigger opportunities, like her own Marvel franchise. More on this (exciting rumor!) when available.
